Time/Space Visualiser is a gen Doctor Who newsletter. It ran for at least 76 issues.
Newsletter
The Newsletter was issued in 1987. It started life as a 28-page A5 photocopied fanzine and had one issue before morphing into "The Time/Space Visualiser." According to the publisher, this precursor was "edited by Andrew Poulsen and Scott Walker, was the first publication produced by the NZDWFC (New Zealand Dr Who Fan Club) before the club adopted TSV as the name of its newsletter/fanzine. Although much shorter than the issues of TSV that followed, the format and style is very similar to TSV 7. The issue contained a few first impressions of Season 24, contact addresses for other NZ SF clubs, a preview of Season 17, and addresses to write to Doctor Who actors.
"At this point there was just the zine - the fan club didn't come into existence until the following year. The fanzine's name - “The Time Space Visualiser” on the cover - was derived from the device featured in The Space Museum and The Chase that the Doctor used to view moments from history. The cover featured an MC Escher etching called ‘Castrovalva’ which had inspired the story of the same name." Decade
Decade was published in April 1997. From the publisher: "This special was distributed free to all TSV subscribers and celebrated ten years and fifty issues of the fanzine. Edited by Paul Scoones & Nicholas Withers, it came out shortly after TSV 50 and presented a guide to the first fifty issues and all of the specials, as well as contributions from many past and present editors and regular contributors."
Reprint Editions
From the publisher, "Background Info
There have been several compilations of reprints from earlier TSV issues. The first of these was TSV Special Reprint Edition, compiled by David Bishop and published in November 1989. This contained straight reproductions of the whole of TSV 4, 5 and 6, plus a couple of previously unpublished articles. February 1991 saw the publication of TSV Flashback Vol.1, the first in an intended series of issues reprinting highlights from old issues. Covering the first six issues, editor Paul Scoones produced revised versions of most of the articles featured as well as additional material related to the magazine's first year of production. The Best of TSV 1 - 20 was published in May 1993, in which editor Paul Scoones reused some of the material from Flashback Vol.1 as well as the best from issues 7-20. This issue only slightly revised and given a new title, TSV: The Best of Issues 1 - 20, for publication in July 1994 alongside a companion volume, TSV: The Best of Issues 21 - 26, which featured highlights from the 1991 issues."
