Lelouch Lamperouge/Suzaku Kururugi is an Enemyslash pairing from the 2006 anime series Code Geass. It is the most popular pairing in the fandom, amassing over 1,000 works on Archive of Our Own. Lelouch Lamperouge is the protagonist of Code Geass and Suzaku Kururugi is the secondary protagonist of the series.
Canon
Lelouch was exiled from the Britannian royal family after the death of his mother. He then changed his name and relocated to Area 11. He is highly intelligent, putting on a friendly demeanor when around his fellow students at Ashford Academy, but his true nature is much more cunning and is expressed when he assumes the role of Zero. When he and his sister Nunnally were exiled to Area 11 as political hostages, the two stayed in the Kururugi household where they met Suzaku.
Suzaku is the son of former Japanese Prime Minister Genbu Kururugi. Though Japanese, Suzaku is given the title of "Honorary Britannian" for his services in the Britannian military. Prior to the Britannian invasion of Japan and the death of his father, Suzaku is described by Lelouch as rather selfish and was known for bullying Lelouch. After Genbu's death, his demeanor changes greatly. He becomes very loyal to Britannia, believing that the empire can be "changed from within", and places great respect in his superiors. His ultimate goal is to atone for the killing of his father.
