The SPN Summergen is an annual gift exchange in the Supernatural fandom, focused on gen fanworks. It is one of the longest continually running events in the SPN fandom. Originally designed to help SPN fans while away the desert months of summer hiatus, participants offer up to six prompts, after which a different participant will create a fanwork based on one of those prompts. Fics are a minimum of 1000 words long and the art roughly equivalent.
