Ratboy Brigade was an fan group for the X-Files character Alex Krycek.

It was not the same thing as Nicholas Lea Estrogen Brigade, and in fact, its creator claimed it was :"*not* a hormone brigade" at all. [1]

Welcome to the Ratboy Brigade MiniFAQ for the confused and apprehensive!

( SQUEAK! )-- <:8 )--

What's The Ratboy Brigade?

The Ratboy Brigade was formed in June 1995 by a few eccentric X-Philes who unashamedly prefer villains to heroes. Their villain of choice is ex-Agent Alex "Ratboy" Krycek, the weaselly, backstabbing civil servant who, over the course of 6 episodes, managed to do some considerable trimming on Mulder's and Scully's Xmas shopping lists.

Though not confirmed by anyone who really has a clue, the Ratboy Brigade (Or "Rat'niks") may have been the first internet villian's fan club. It's members think ex-Agent Krycek is just about the coolest thing since tuberculosis, and firmly believe that anybody who can arouse as much abject hatred on the a.t.x newsgroup as Krycek did certainly deserves recognition.

Is This Another Hormone Brigade? NO! There is/was a Nicholas Lea Estrogen Brigade (NLEB), but that is not in any way affiliated with the Ratboy Brigade. The Rat'niks are *not* a hormone brigade. While exclamations over Nic Lea's good looks aren't actually discouraged, that isn't the point of the Brigade.

What *Is* The Point Of The Brigade? I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you and everyone with a similar DNA pattern.

How Can I Join The Ratboy Brigade? Contact Agent Crunchy Frog for an application. Admission and expulsion fron the Brigade happen at her whim. She's easily bribed. Word to the wise: she likes expensive jewelry, fine artwork, and residences in the country. A new car might be nice, too.

Episodes That Ratboy Appears in: :

What Other Vitally Important Information Should I Have? For that, you've got to be a member. Sorry.

WARNING: Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES should a Ratboy Brigadeer be asked to go for coffee. This _really_ annoys them.

WARNING, THE SEQUEL: Rat'niks say, "SPELLING COUNTS!!" If you have difficulty remembering how to spell "Krycek", then please just call him Ratboy!! Or use the mnemonic:

K iller
R odents
Y ell
C onstantly,
E xasperating
K GB!

If you have any new info for either the Public or the Restricted FAQs, please send it in & I'll update them.*

Part 1: Ratboy Brigade stuff:

Wow. OK, I'm almost caught up in sending out the Exams, and I'll start marking next week. So you'll probably find out by the end of the month if you made the cut. Yes, you really *do* have to pass the test. And your test score will determine your position in the Rat'nik hierarchy... the positions include BF (Beverage Fetcher), DO (Disposable Operative, sort of related like any agent who works with Mulder and Scully on a case... you know your lifespan is about 39 minutes ;), MIB (Mouse In Black), MOW (Mouse Of Wile), AD (Assistant Deceiver), DOP (Director Of Plotting), RIT (Rat In Training), RIP (Rodent In Power), KIT (Krycek in Training), and DFL (Dictator For Life, occupied by yours truly).

There are a few others, but you get the idea. [3]

Just to fill any Krycek Fans in on the situation, yes, Krycek (a.k.a. Ratboy) DOES have a fan base; the groups that come to mind are:

"The Rat'niks" a.k.a. The Ratboy Brigade - The first, the original, and the hardest to join (new entry requirement being developed daily) of the Ratboy fan groups. Run by yours truly <insert shameless plug here:> Be warned that it may take a LONG time for your mail to be responded to (usually minimum of 1 week). I've got a backlog of new members who *will* be getting their FAQs any day now, promise promise...

RAD (Ratboy's Admiring Devotees) - A group that's pretty active on the X-files official web page for Alex Krycek (Don't have the URL on hand, but I think that's the Delphi site...)

RABID (Ratboy's something something something Dominatrixes) - who believe that all Krycek need is "the firm hand of a strong woman" (Unfortunately I don't have any more info on this one - at least none that I am at liberty to divulge in a public forum...)

There is also a Nicholas Lea Estrogen Brigade maillist somewhere, and a snail-mail Nicholas Lea Fan Club, maybe someone who's familiar with them can add something to this? [4]
