Print zines often had a proofreader, someone other than the editor or the author to check for simple errors before the zine was ready to be printed.
It became a common joke to spell "proofreader" wrong on the credits page. "Prufreader," "Poofreader," "1/2pptrsfomh," and "Proofreeder" are all examples.
