OBC, in theater, refers to the Original Broadway Cast of a show. These are the performers who usually appear on the recording of a musical's soundtrack, and are often held up as the idealized version of a show. In popular shows, the OBC can be where fans find new or unknown actors to fan over.
The original cast records the cast album.
In fanart, popular and widespread character designs are usually based on the members of the OBC, even though play characters usually don’t have a set canon appearance.
