The Board Assistants Team, also known as "BAT," (members are called BATs) is one of the committees involved in the Organization for Transformative Works.
The OTW website describes its role:
Helps the OTW Board of Directors with administrative tasks and project management so that the Board can prioritize critical issues and work more effectively.
The committee was developed after internal discussions related to the 2023 OTW Board Election, which noted that the Board did not have any support staff who weren't Board members. This was noted as one possible reason for delayed responses, lack of documentation of processes and decisions, and limited preparation for events (like lack of moderation planning for public Board meetings).
The first internal call for volunteers happened in October 2023. This committee is not open to public applicants - members need to be OTW volunteers to be considered, as their activities require an understanding of the org's internal structure and social dynamics.
