Riku x Naminé is the Het pairing of Riku and Namine from the Disney/Square Enix video game franchise Kingdom Hearts and its related media.
Background
Riku first encounters Namine in Chain of Memories when she appears to him disguised as Kairi in order to encourage him not to give up when Zexion tries to kill him by trapping him with light. Her words help inspire him to finally embrace the darkness in his heart as a part of him, and when they officially meet a short time later, he admits that he recognized she wasn’t Kairi.
After the events of the game, the two spend the next year working alongside each other as Namine tries to restore Sora’s memories after she spent much of her introductory game rewriting them.
In Kingdom Hearts II, their ally DiZ orders Riku to kill Namine once she has served her purpose, but Riku defies the order and helps her escape with the help of Axel. The game’s novel adaptation depicts the three of them traveling together through most of the game.
