Keeley Jones/Roy Kent/Jamie Tartt (also known as Roykeeleyjamie) is a reasonably popular poly relationship in the Ted Lasso fandom, developing out of the canonical romances between Keeley and the two men, and the way Roy and Jamie's platonic relationship was portrayed as growing over the three seasons. In fandom, season three especially saw fans hopeful that the show might end with a canonical poly relationship, and many had mixed feelings about how the three characters' arcs ended up.

Canon

At the beginning of the show, Keeley and Jamie are together. Roy and Jamie have a bit of rivalry that softens over time. The first season ends with Keeley and Roy romantically involved.

Jamie admired both Roy and Keeley from afar long before he met either. In season 3, Roy and Keeley visit Jamie’s childhood home and spot posters of the two of them next to each other on the wall.[1] Since the poster of Keeley was often used to illustrate Jamie’s attraction to her, fans felt like this might indicate that Jamie was attracted to Roy as well.[2] On September 23rd, 2024, the Apple TV Twitter account tweeted a picture of these two posters with the hashtag #BiVisibilityDay,[3] further fueling this theory.[4]

History and Overview

As of April 2024, Keeley/Roy/Jamie have 554 fanworks tagged with their relationship on Archive of Our Own and are in the top ten most tagged pairings in the Ted Lasso tag.

The first work with the pairing tagged seems to have been posted to AO3 on 31 December 2020, and the relationship became more popular throughout season two before seeing a bigger increase with season three. Some fans felt that there was a possibility the show might go down the poly relationship route with the way the relationships between the three characters were changing[5], and there was disappointment when all three characters ended the show single.

Fan Commentary

Jamie having both a poster of Roy AND Keeley on the wall of his childhood bedroom is truly so funny. My brother just said “wow Jamie Tartt really just goes out and achieves what he wants doesn’t he” - bombshellsandblueshells[6]
