J.A. Lawrence was the author of several for-profit Star Trek: TOS books as well as other books and short stories.
While James Blish was credited as the adapter for Star Trek 1 through to Star Trek 11, it was later acknowledged that releases after Star Trek 6 were written in collaboration with J.A. Lawrence (Blish's wife) and his wife's mother, Muriel Lawrence. This was due, in part, to Blish's declining health. Supposedly, his editor at Bantam Books (Frederik Pohl) was unaware of the Lawrences' collaboration until sometime prior to publication of Star Trek 11. J.A. Lawrence was credited in the final volume, Star Trek 12, which was released after Blish's death in 1977.
Judy Blish/J.A. Lawrence wrote a Star Trek fanwork called "Scrambled Ends," a parody where the Wizard of Oz meets Trek. She read it at Galileo Con, and it was printed in Galileo Shuttle Logs #1 (1982).
Lawrence was also the author of the pro Trek novel Mudd's Angels.
