Inkworld, better known by its first book, Inkheart, is a trilogy written by German author Cornelia Funke illustrates the world of Mo and Meggie Folchart, father and daughter with unusual talent of 'reading out' the characters from books and 'reading in' the real people. They have no control of what will get out of the book, hence the innumerable amount of trouble they get themselves into during their readings of various books.

Out of three published books, only Inkheart was made into movie in 2008. There has been no final consensus about Inkspell and Inkdeath (originally Tintenblut and Tintentod).

Fandom

Cornelia Funke's fanbase is assumed to be strongest in Europe. This might be due to the fact that the novels were written and first published in German. Also, the frame story of Inkheart takes place in Germany and Italy.

Inkheart follows that rule that despite being made into movie, and statistics on multifandom pages shows it: both Fanfiction.net and AO3 have a very small pool of fanfics while several examples of fanart can be found on Deviantart.
