Chatty tags or Tumblr-style tags are tags added to fanworks hosted on the Archive of Our Own that are generally intended as jokes or commentary from the creator and not meant to be filtered on. The practice was inherited from Tumblr fandom in the early 2010s, when common reblog practice was to add your own commentary in the tags because adding comments in the main post was thought to clutter up the reblog chains.
