Bowuigi is the non-canonical slash ship between Bowser and Luigi from the Mario franchise. Though existing prior to its release, the ship gained a burst of popularity in December 2022 after a trailer for the Super Mario Movie featured Bowser threatening Luigi in a scene fans viewed as classic enemies-to-lovers. Some of this initially appeared to be ironic, though unironic shipping also very much occurred, especially amongst monsterfuckers.
