Blood Drips Heavily on Newsies Square is a Newsies slasher spoof created by the supporting cast of the film. It was directed by Michael A. Goorjian and filmed using Kevin Stea's camcorder and is the subject of many fandom jokes.
Production
As clarified by Goorjian on Newsies Minute, most of the supporting cast of Newsies was contractually obligated to remain on set regardless of their own film time. This allowed extensive time for the teen actors to mess around and create a film of their own. Music was played on a Boombox held to the camera and most shots was taken in real time in order, with no editing, with the exception of a few scenes near the end.
