An UNCLE for All Seasons and One for All Time is a slash anthology by Blondie and Raisa. The title is sometimes just given as An UNCLE for All Seasons.
Summaries from the publisher:
- Cupid's Bow by Blondie—Cupid, in human guise, throws a party at the New York Hilton. Saddened by the dearth of love he feels around him he begins plying his updated bow at carefully selected souls who look like they could use some love in their life. One intended beneficiary of the love darts is none other than Illya Kuryakin. For Illya, Cupid has selected a mousy female with a razor sharp brain. Aphrodite, who has just crashed Cupid's soiree, sees a far more interesting mate for the young Russian and spoils Cupid's aim, sending the dart plunging into Napoleon Solo's heart. (This is a reprint that originally appeared in Relative Secrecy 3)
- Rites and Passages by Raisa—Napoleon and Illya take a vacation - Kuryakin style. Mountain climbing is not exactly Napoleon's favorite thing to do on vacation, but he goes to please his new lover. Once they complete their ascent and decent, Illya stumbles onto a group of revelers practicing an ancient rite. Having just read about this kind of thing, Illya Kuryakin decides to try the rite with some atypical Kuryakin flare. The result is - well - interesting.
- The Record High Affair by Raisa—It's hot. The assignment isn't going very well. Illya did not understand that they were going to an amusement park, and has never been to one before. He is less than thrilled with everything - the heat, the noise, the crowds and the stench - until the two buy some tickets to ride… Well, you may never look at a roller coaster the same way again - or a Ferris wheel.
- Being Illya Kuryakin by Raisa—A young female lab assistant has a huge crush on Illya Kuryakin and decides to go to the Section Halloween party disguised as number two, Section Two. The Dynamic Duo is supposed to be halfway around the world. They aren't and Napoleon fancies a party at the end of an arduous mission. Guess who can't keep his eyes off the black clad, blonde wigged impersonator. Guess what happens next!
- First Kiss - Last Kiss by Raisa—And lastly comes the novelette. Raisa read a short story by Blondie entitled "Kiss and Tell"[1] which first appeared in Classified Affairs 7. As often happens when an author reads a really good short story the very next scene popped into her head, full blown and just begging to be written. So it was - and then some. "Kiss and Tell" by Blondie tells the tale of the first meeting of Napoleon Solo and Illya Kuryakin in a Paris bordello. Napoleon is a junior enforcement agent at this point, and Illya is employed by the KGB. Both are very young and very talented. Both are on a mission to acquire a certain book. In "First Kiss - Last Kiss" by Raisa Napoleon Solo's written report of his Paris assignment prompts Alexander Waverly to approach the KGB, requesting the young Russian for temporary duty with the U.N.C.L.E. Now, can you imagine what kind of trouble this might cause for the young KGB agent? A world of trouble.
Reactions and Reviews
[Kiss and Tell]: I have to confess that I, as an asexual, tend to gloss over sex scenes in fic and therefore don't tend to rec stories with a lot of sex in them. There are many other reviewers who are far better at noticing those things, anyway :) This piece by Blondie (and pretty much all of her other work), however, was too much fun to pass up and basically begged to be rec'd. This first time story is fantastically plausible with sizzling chemistry and dry wit, the way the best episodes were. There's an infectious playfulness of language, and our characters' clever mischief makes Napoleon and Illya more irresistible than ever. As sensual and glossy as this story is, there's some genuinely intriguing relationship dynamics and intimacy issues that keep you begging for more.[2]
