Accio Quote! is a website aggregating J.K. Rowling's quotes about the Harry Potter series.

Accio Quote! primarily hosts its own transcribed versions of originally broadcasted interviews, and also mirrors interview transcripts originally published elsewhere (which may or may not be currently available at the original sources). It claims to be "the largest archive of J.K. Rowling quotes on the web."

It is operated by fans[1] and used by fans and researchers.

Accio Quote, which incorporates Quick Quotes Quill, established by Mike Gray (a.k.a. Aberfoth's Goat). Archive of interviews, maintained by Deborah Skinner (a.k.a. Madam Scoop), Lisa Waite Bunker, and others. Recommended.

The website operates on fair use, and had to take down some of the content over the years.

I want to let all of our readers know that Accio Quote will be changing. Some of the articles will be taken offline, although when possible we will be linking out. This means that for a short time the current search index will be less thorough, so we will be re-configuring that too and moving to Google Coop for our search utility.

Why? I have been informed that, thanks to the uncertain boundaries of fair use in copyright law, we could face potentially expensive legal fights over some of the materials in the archive. Rather than wait to be dragged into these disputes, I prefer to take action now.

History

Accio Quote was born in 2004 when two groups of fans documenting J K Rowling's quotes and interview transcripts joined efforts: Madam Scoop's Index to J.K. Rowling Interviews, created by Deborah Skinner (aka Madam Scoop) and Lisa Bunker (aka Angharad), and the Quick Quote Quill, created by Mike Gray (aka Aberfoth's Goat).[4]
