The zine is a collection of letters from fans (titled "From the Helpers") of the show discussing aspects of the show including the actors, characters, stories, and fanfiction. This zine also contains photos (both xeroxed and original), some original artwork, con reports, open letters, and sometimes clippings and interviews.

Some regular features were: "OK Good...OK Fine" (the editorial), "From the Library" (zine listings), and "On the Pipes" (fan clubs).

There were 60 issues published between 1988 to 1996.

There was a special issue of "Once Upon a Time... Is Now." It contains 8 pages and was sent to fans in December 1992.

It contains a letter from the editor who talks about strife in the fandom (specicially in hte pages of this letterzine) and how, going forward, only positive letters would be printed.

This issue has photos of fans and celebrities at TunnelCon II, fan's limericks, and excerpts from letters in previous issues.

Dear Readers, You are probably wondering why you are getting this in your mail.

Quite frankly, it's because we miss you as part of the family. A lot has changed since you last received an issue of "OUT...IN", both in fandom and in our newsletter. I would like to tell you a little bit about both.

Many of you dropped out because of the 3rd season bickering between fans. It was distressful to all of us. I will not tell you that it is completely gone, but it is very rare and not tolerated by the vast majority of fans. We seem to have grown past this through the diligent work of all the fans.

We, at "OUT.. .IN", have made several changes ourselves. Same of you may know that my former co-editor, Joyce DeBoard, had to bow out two years ago because of a wonderful promotion in her job. I have been fortunate to have gotten Loreen VanderKraats as my new co-editor (and chief slave!) plus the awesome talent of Linda Lakin to do the lay-out. We have added some new columns as well. One of them is "JAY WATCHING" written by K.G. Miles (you may know her as the artist "Cat"). This column replaces the fan club publication for Jay Acovone with Jay and Fonda's complete approval and participation and keeps you up-to-date an the goings on of this wonderful actor. We also have a column called "REACHING OUT...INtroducing" that features a specific fan. In this way we can come to know each other better. We still have the con reports, fanzine listings, great photos, merchandise listing, "ABBREVIATED CODE" by Karen Mitchell, celebrity interviews, as well as all the other things you used to love to see in the issues. The following pages will give you some examples of the things you are missing. Probably the most significant change came just a few issues ago. The fans and we came to a point that we just couldn't go on with the negative letters. Almost every letter begged for a more positive position. We took them at their word and changed the format.

The following is an excerpt from the Editors' Note in issue #38. "You all seem to be saying the same thing over and over.. .Let's put an end to this bickering." So, we are going to take you at your word and do just that. This issue will contain the last letters with any direct attacks in it whether that person be a star, production personnel or fan. We have no problem printing differing ideas and opinions, but the bickering has to stop. I know a few of you really enjoy the 'excitement' of a good fight, and to you we apologize, but the overwhelming majority of our readers want it stopped. It's to you we dedicate the change."

And stop it did! The letters immediately changed and we started talking about the upcoming conventions, zine stories we loved, writing and and editing styles. Ron Koslow made a surprise visit to TunnelCon II last summer and talked about making a movie. There are ongoing discussions about that possibility as well. We also started something that has become addictive to many - LIMERICKS!! You will see some examples in this mini-issue.

All in all, it's becoming fun to be in fandom again. We hope this mini version of "OUT...IN" will encourage you to once again become part of us.
