The Editorial

Here I am at the eleventh hour madly writing, first, let me say this zine would not have been possible without the help of my good friend and glorious beta and editor. E.D. Pearl. I am truly indebted to her for all her hard work. Thanks also goes to Merc, who, at Revelcon last year said she'd like to see a story where Jack gets hurt and Daniel has to deal. That got my mind going and by the end of the con. I had Odyssey outlined in my head. Of course, at

the time. I did not know it would be a post Meridian tale. I am not going to apologize for that, nor will I apologize for writing a story where "our" Daniel doesn't return. Until very recently, we didn't know he would, and so this "what if" story was conceived and written. It was a labor of love - and I hope you will fall in love with this Daniel and be happy for Jack.

Dedication

"For anyone who ever loved someone who never came back."

Summary

[Heart of Time was] written before Daniel's return to the show was announced, this story finds our Jack a Daniel of his very own when a sudden collapse at an archeological dig unearths a Stargate. Daniel finds not only the proof of his theories that he'd actually given up looking for, but an injured man named Jack O'Neill, who claims that the Stargate is a portal to other worlds -- and that he's from another universe altogether. Daniel must return him to his own dimension before he dies of his injuries, and Jack insists Daniel come with him. What will Daniel find on the other side? Acceptance? A fulfilling life? Love with this captivating man who claims to have known him from another time? [1]
