Draco/Ginny is a fairly popular pairing in the Harry Potter fandom, featuring Draco Malfoy and Ginny Weasley. It is commonly known as Fire and Ice, a name given to the pairing on the FictionAlley message boards in 2001.

History

The first Draco/Ginny story appeared on FanFiction.net in 2000, and although it was not well-received, the 'ship slowly gained popularity. In 2001, the DracoGinnyFanFic Yahoo! Group was created by StrangerWithMyFace, who invited many Draco/Ginny fan writers from FanFiction.net. Shortly thereafter, the first D/G archive was established, Magical Theory, which is now inactive.

The Fire and Ice Archive was established by Mynuet and Megh in 2004 and is the largest D/G archive, with over 18,000 members and 735 authors on the site.

Fanfiction

Draco/Ginny fanfiction can be found all over the web. Much of it can be found at large archives such as FanFiction.net and FictionAlley, but more specialized archives have also been created, such as the Fire and Ice Archive and Magical Theory, which are both exclusively D/G, as well as Portkey.org, which allows D/G, H/Hr, and R/L.

A large amount of fanfiction can also be found on LiveJournal, where there are many D/G communities, as well D/G fests and challenges, such as The Draco/Ginny Fic Exchange.

Fanart

Draco/Ginny fanart, like the ship itself, is quite popular. Most of it can be found at DeviantArt, where a group Draco x Ginny has been set up to collate all the Draco/Ginny inspired pieces. Most mediums are represented, and a few have been provided below to showcase the variety of art available. There is a trend towards photomanipulation, presumably because Bonnie Wight and Tom Felton were relatively young at the height of the ship. Models have often been used to put the characters into aged roles. Boyd Holbrook (Draco) and Cintia Dicker (Ginny) are popular choices.
