Hi, Caessius! I just wanted to say welcome to Fanlore, and thanks for all the amazing edits you've been doing! I've been stoked to see them all on the Recent Changes :D

If you ever have any questions or just want to chat, feel free to drop me a line on my talk page!

I look forward to seeing you around the wiki :3 --enchantedsleeper (talk) 20:49, 19 December 2018 (UTC)

I'd like to second that welcome, Caessius! --MPH (talk) 22:09, 19 December 2018 (UTC)

Hi caes I'm worried you won't see my notice on the page or my DM on discord because you're editing. Please stop editing Dirty Laundry (Voltron fanfiction) because I'm not done constructing the page and when you edit it you make me lose progress as I have to merge my edits with your edits. It's happened three times now! Please. - Hoopla (talk) 22:36, 10 February 2019 (UTC)

Sorry, Hoopla. I saw the Talk after I made an edit – I undid the recent edit so hopefully that solves it. – caes (talk) 22:38, 10 February 2019 (UTC)
Thank you! I really do appreciate the help but I have a lot of content and links to work in and for technological reasons I can't draft pages elsewhere and then c/p them in, I have to revise straight on the site. I could really use an under construction notice to slap on articles... maybe I'll see about making one when I'm done with this page. Also, I don't know if you're in the VLD fanfiction but I should probably say I have no idea how to work the info about this fic into the Klance page because everything I know about the fandom and the ship I learned researching for this page. - Hoopla (talk) 22:44, 10 February 2019 (UTC)
Sorry, I also haven't been in VLD fandom except looking into the discourse out of curiosity years ago. – caes (talk) 22:52, 10 February 2019 (UTC)

The Disciplinarian

In re The Disciplinarian: I was surprised to see this page. I had been looking through the roster page on wowe.com and I noticed that they had an African-American woman playing the role this time around, and it made me think of "Whitewashing" which was what led me to the Race and Fandom page. I didn't expect that anyone would do anything with that. JKFAN (talk) 20:52, 14 March 2019 (UTC)

I also made a page for Trish Stratus. I think when you see a few dense paragraphs starting to build up on a trope page it's a good idea to start an individual character page. I'm not familiar with the Disciplinarian, but the history of her casting and the reaction to her seems like it could be relevantly expanded upon. – caes (talk) 21:17, 14 March 2019 (UTC)

Bootlegs

Are you constructing the Bootleg and Bootleg Sharing pages? I won't mess with them if you have plans! -- Shannon (talk)

Please, go ahead! I'd appreciate any and all contributions. – caes (talk) 15:42, 19 March 2019 (UTC)

Moving Pages

Hi Caessius, thanks for all the great work you've been doing lately! I wanted to point out though that when a page needs disambiguating--like your recent edits to Cascade/Cascade (fanfiction)--best practice is to use the wiki's Move function so that the article's edit history is retained along with the page's content. Regular users can't move/rename pages, but if you want a page moved, you can add an AttentionGardeners template to the page and someone will move the page for you. Or, if you're interested in becoming a Gardener or Advanced Editor, I would encourage you to contact the Fanlore Committee, as you seem like you'd be a great candidate :) --sparc 01:19, 18 April 2019 (UTC)

Sorry, I wasn't aware that asking a gardener was required. Thanks for letting me know [: – caes (talk) 03:23, 18 April 2019 (UTC)

Apologies if I got in your way on edits

Teen Wolf Ship Names

I was wondering why you are changing all the Teen Wolf relationship article titles to the portmanteaus? Yes some of the most popular ships have one fandom accepted portmanteau, but others have more than one possibility, for Isaac Lahey/Scott McCall both Scisaac, McLahey were used, and with Melissa McCall/Sheriff Stilinski both Sherissa, Melinski were used. Instead of renaming the article I think it would be better just to have Scisaac redirect to Isaac Lahey/Scott McCall for example. -- Kingstoken (talk) 20:34, 5 December 2019 (UTC)

According to Fanlore Naming Conventions, slashes should be avoided in page titles because they create subpages, so I decided to move them to commonly used portmanteaus. Scisaac is used much more than McLahey (according to Google search results), so McLahey can be a redirect to Scisaac. But if a page has been retitled to a portmanteau that isn't commonly used, or is the less popular of two, then feel free to bring it up retitling it on the talk page. —caes (talk) 20:56, 5 December 2019 (UTC)
Hi caes - if you look more carefully at the Fanlore page on naming conventions, you'll see that it says:
Virgules (/) should be avoided except where necessary, as they define subpages. (Said with the understanding that it is a core part of pairings and fannish terms, and shouldn't be avoided in those cases.)

The page also says in the Character and Pairing Pages section that "Because the naming conventions for pairings vary from fandom to fandom, there is no hard-and-fast rule about how to represent the name of the pairing." So I don't really think there is a need to start moving pairing pages en masse unless there is a clear discrepancy between how the Fanlore page is named and how that ship is referred to in the fandom? After all, redirects can be made that serve the same purpose. --enchantedsleeper (talk) 17:35, 19 December 2019 (UTC)
Hi enchantedsleeper, I tried to start discussion over on Help talk:Naming Conventions so that the community could maybe come to a consensus, but unfortunately it didn't get any traction -- Kingstoken (talk) 18:11, 19 December 2019 (UTC)
I replied on the Naming Conventions talk page to explain my reasoning more and hopefully we can come to a consensus. —caes (talk) 01:56, 20 December 2019 (UTC)
