Touka Koukan was an archive for Fullmetal Alchemist fanworks. All ratings were accepted, and the site had sections for yaoi, yuri, het and gen. It also hosted essays about the series, and historical information relevant to authors and artists in the fandom. Authors and artists had to apply for inclusion.

Touka Koukan was initially focused on yaoi, but began accepting other genres some time around early 2005. A February 2005 post in FMA Yuri noted the change in policy. The archive moved servers in 2006. In 2010, the founder posted in the main fandom community, fm_alchemist, that the archive would soon go defunct, and several people noted that they were already unable to retrieve any fanworks from the site. The site was last archived by the Wayback Machine in 2008.

Site Policies

• Touka Koukan is an archive that hosts fanworks for the anime/manga Hagane no Renkinjutsushi or Fullmetal Alchemist. This archive will host all material, regardless of genre or rating. To be hosted here, your fanfiction must follow the basic grammar rules of the English language and you must have an understanding of the series. To be hosted here, your fanart must show a basic understanding of drawing and you must have an understanding of the series. These are the archive's only rules for content. Again, Touka Koukan archives all ratings. No matter what type of fanwork, as long as it obeys the content rules, we'll host it.
• Touka Koukan's policy is the author's/artist's policy. Any fanwork posted by an author, no matter the type, will be labelled with a way to get in contact with the author as well as the author's name. Individual author/artist pages are available to readers/viewers with contact information, links to author web-pages (if applicable) and a list of hosted stories.
• This is a story-by-story or picture-by-picture archive. To become archived you must first be given access to the Touka Koukan Fanworks Manager. From there, you will be permitted to submit fanfictions that you wish to be displayed on the site for hosting Or, to be hosted, you may send your submissions in story-by-story. Again, fanworks must be submitted individually or permission asked on a fanwork-by-fanwork basis. If you are archived here, that does not mean that every Hagaren fanwork you produce henceforth will automatically be archived. They must be submitted individually by either yourself or an administrator.
• Since all of the stories and fanarts are evaluated on an individual basis and Touka Koukan does not take all of your work by default, we are not obligated to host everything submitted. If some of your work is removed after submission or not accepted, it is Touka Koukan's responsibility to notify you, the author or artist.
