Recs and Reviews

You have to wait a while for the money shot, but this story builds to a very satisfying conclusion. There is a lot detail of Obi-Wan trying to carry out his mission, but it's pertinent to the plot and it's nice to see him handling his Jedi duties competently and how you'd expect Obi-Wan to handle things. There's a twist, of sorts, but you're let in on it from early on. Of course, Obi-Wan is unusual and does the unpredictable, and even though the outcome is pretty much a foregone conclusion it's very satisfying seeing him get there. Oh yeah, and Mace gets called a Slabobian bowl worm. :)[1]

I love when Jedi get to do Jedi type things -- negotiate and battle and make plans and just be totally in charge and awesome. It never fails to make me weak in knees, especially when it's Obi-Wan getting to have all the fun. And that is exactly what this story is -- Jedi stuff with a very nice build-up to a first time.[2]
