I'll Keep You Safe Here With Me. is a slash fanfic for the pairing of Clint Barton/Bucky Barnes in the MCU. It takes place Post-Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
Summary
- Yes, Clint is avoiding the other Avengers. No, he does not want to go back to New York. But then again, he didn't exactly want to be kidnapped by the Winter Soldier either. Really, he just wants to go back to bed.

Mostly because I stumbled on sara_holmes' I'll Keep You Safe Here With Me, and wondered how a 100k epic for a rarepair had managed to get more than 3000 kudos. Then I read it, fell in love with it, devoured all of her other Clint/Bucky fic, and fell in love with the pairing.[2]

I love “Where The Hell Was Clint Barton” fics so much, and this one is fantastic. It shows Clint wrestling with his trauma after Loki, and it shows Bucky and Clint working together to deal with their trauma together. Clint is definitely a BAMF in this, and I’m here for it. I think that the characterization of Clint and his inner thoughts are really really well done in this as well.[4]
This is probably going to be on everyone’s list but really, there’s a reason for it. There’s angst and plot and the slow build is fucking beautiful. I love the opening to it mise-en-scene where we think we know how it ends but I am so excited to see how it gets there[5]
