Archiving Policy
Gundam Wing Addiction was created to serve as a home for Gundam Wing fanfiction authors, particularly those without a homepage, when I realized the plight of fic writers without the time -or HTML knowledge- to set up their own site. Therefore, a major requirement is that all GW fics by any author hosted here be archived: an all-or-nothing kind of deal, and a one-way street: once in, there is no way out.Gundam Wing Addiction is a closed archive, meaning that submissions are not accepted. Please do not send submissions by email: there are a lot of fanfiction websites out there whose webmasters are happy to receive submissions, and most of them can be found through Anipike or GW webrings, mailing lists and forums.
By contrast, archiving at Gundam Wing Addiction is by invitation only and the best way to get invited is to post your fics on gw-fan so that I may read them, since this is the main Gundam Wing mailing list I am on.
History
The website was launched sometime in February 2000. The last update is logged as having been posted in July of 2009. In August some fans noted the forums being inaccessible, possibly due to a recent web server move. [2]
A 404 error page upon clicking on any broken link contains a message from Tyr dated to April 2018 asking for a few extra days to fix site issues.
Contests
Between 2001 and 2004, an annual contest was held to determine the best fanfic in the Fluff and Angst categories. Authors could submit their stories for judging and Winners were chosen by popular vote.
