Reactions and Reviews

If you like angst, then this is definitely going to be your bag... I know that as I read it, I had a lump in my throat, and a pain in my chest that just wouldn't go away. Jim and Blair finally get together - the problem is that they both know that it won't work, so they call it off...but will it make them happy? [1]

I dont know if this has already been mentioned, but Jack Reuben Darcy has done an absolutely brilliant Sentinel story called Grand Canyon that I would say is a MUST READ.

The angst level is through the roof! Blair is not portrayed as a wimp/girly type, but a strong man with his own mind. Jim is so repressed and so absolutely afraid of intimacy that he's a walking hunk of turmoil and anguish. The UST quotient is dynamite. Throughout the story, they behave like men, not girls.

Unrequited love is not the problem in this story, rather the problem of requited love when a relationship is something both fear would undermine the work they do as Sentinel and Guide. So Jim + Blair refuse to have a relationship whilst admitting upfront to each other that they love each other.

But, they have one night together, when the UST becomes too much.

So THEN, THEY REALLY SUFFER.

There is a man that Blair tries to have a relationship with and he is most definately not a Marty Sue. The sex scenes are the best kind- ie hot and powerful but reflecting both the stage the relationship is at at the time and each partner's characters. This story would be a scorcher even if Darcy didnt go into details in the sex scenes. And when Jim falls apart, its in a totally believeable way.

LADIES, READ THIS FIC ! [2]
