Summary
Kurt Hummel just wants to get through his Junior Year at McKinley in one piece. But when the new guy from Dalton Academy Reform School for Boys takes an alarming interest in him, he's certain he's going to be in for a wild ride.[1]
Adapted as Origfic
In late 2014, zavocado posted an update to "Go Your Own Way" on Fanfiction.net, announcing that the fic would be adapted as an original novel:
Hello, everyone!So I have some exciting news and I thought I'd go ahead and post it on the story since my news is directly related to it. I guess the easiest way to say it, is that Go Your Own Way is going to be a published book! The release is set for May 2015! You can check out links to my blog and the cover art on my profile page. There's also a link for the publisher that will have more information about when it will be available for pre-order and purchase. I'll say a bit here about it, too.
There's a few obvious differences, of course, since this is originally a work of fan fiction, but this is not just a straight forward, copy and paste new names and places into the story. It's a major rewrite of the original, with new characters, a different location, new parts to the story and more depth for the characters, their backstories, and lives. I'm really, really excited to finally get to announce this, and I hope you'll check out my blog where you can see the cover art and answers to questions about the book. Feel free to follow me on there or ask any questions you have of your own. There's links in my profile to my blog and different social media sites.
Thank you so much for all the encouragement and excitement you gave me when I first wrote this story. Without you, I would never be where I am now and I would have never had this chance. Have a great holiday and new year, and look for more in the fan fiction GYOW universe in the coming year! I may have started writing a sequel so we'll see about getting that finished and posted at some point during 2015!

On April 25, 2015, zavocado posted another update to the fic, assuring readers that "Go Your Own Way" would remain online at Fanfiction.net:
I can happily say that yes, Go Your Own Way, in its fan fiction form will remain on this site as well as AO3 and Scarvesandcoffee. If it does disappear, please, let me know. Contact me through tumblr or twitter, etc. and I'll see what's happened and if I can't put it back up or find an old PDF that other people made a long time ago...in a galaxy far far away...[3]
