Gabrielle Delacour is a Harry Potter character introduced as the younger sister of Fleur Delacour, the Beauxbatons champion for the Triwizard Tournament in Goblet of Fire. She is the youngest daughter of Appolline Delacour and Monsieur Delacour (Monsieur Delacour is not named in canon). She is related to the Weasley Family through the marriage between Fleur and Bill Weasley, and the Aunt of Fleur's three children. She is one quarter Veela through her maternal grandmother.
Though Gabrielle is described as being "Fleur in miniature," possessing the same silver hair and beautiful features, in canon fanfiction she is generally not depicted as possessing the magical powers of attraction native to the veela due to her young age. That said, she is occasionally aged-up in order to allow her to attend either Beauxbatons or Hogwarts and to be shipped with other characters.
Gabrielle made brief appearances in both Goblet of Fire (as the hostage for Fleur in the Second Task of the Triwizard Tournament, being rescued by Harry Potter) and in Deathly Hallows (where she was a bridesmaid in the wedding between her older sister and Bill Weasley.) She is stated to be eleven years old at the time of the wedding. However, Gabrielle is depicted in the film version of Goblet of Fire as wearing a Beauxbatons uniform and carrying a wand, despite only being eight years old. This indicates that either Beauxbatons is open to witches and wizards much younger than Hogwarts' minimum eleven years of age, or there is a discontinuity between the books and movies regarding Gabrielle's apparent age.
As a character, Gabrielle is depicted in numerous ways. Shortly after the release of Order of the Phoenix, Gabrielle was often depicted as disliking or being jealous of her older sister, consistent with the general negative perception of Fleur at the time (see Fleur Delacour.) Though this trope is still present, it is more common now to see Fleur being more protective of her younger sister and possessing a more familial bond. Gabrielle is often portrayed in a manner opposite to Fleur, generally being more talkative and precocious where Fleur is seen as haughty or pretentious.
In fanfiction, Gabrielle is most often paired in het and polyamorous ships, frequently with Harry Potter. Gabrielle is also shipped in several femslash pairings, with Gabrielle/Ginny, Gabrielle/Luna, and Fleur/Gabrielle being the most common.
