Dominique Weasley is a next-gen character in the Harry Potter series, the second child of Bill Weasley and Fleur Delacour.

Dominique never appears in canon, but was introduced via J.K. Rowling's Weasley family tree, which was released in a post-Deathly Hallows documentary[1] and on JKR's official site. Though Rowling has never stated outright whether Dominique is male or female, fandom has overwhelmingly decided on female.

Canon

Dominique is the middle child of Bill Weasley and Fleur Delacour. She has an older sister, Victoire Weasley (who is mentioned in the Deathly Hallows epilogue), and a younger brother, Louis Weasley. Her precise age relative to her siblings and the other next-gen Weasley kids is unknown. All that is known for certain is that Dominique is younger than Victoire, who is probably around seventeen in the epilogue.

Dominique's maternal great-grandmother is a Veela, a magical creature of supernatural attractiveness. While part-Veela (like Fleur) tend to be unusually attractive, it is unclear whether or to what extent Dominique's distant Veela ancestry would manifest.

Gender

"Dominique" is a unisex French name[2] and thus it is possible for Dominique Weasley to be either male or female. Although the question of Dominique's gender arises occasionally in fannish spaces, Dominique is portrayed almost exclusively as a girl in fanworks.

One indication from Rowling that Dominique may indeed be canonically female is Rowling's description of Victoire Weasley in a 2007 interview as Bill and Fleur's "eldest daughter" (instead of "eldest child"), implying that Victoire is not their only daughter.[3] The couple's only other child, Louis, is male.

Fanon

It is often assumed that Dominique is a couple years younger than Victoire, making her (most likely) a few years older than James Sirius Potter. Her maternal Veela ancestry and her father's canonical good looks cause her to usually be depicted as beautiful, though it is common for fan writers and artists to depict her as less beautiful than her canonically beautiful and blonde sister,[4] who may have inherited more overt Veela traits than Dominique. Dominique is often depicted as having red or strawberry blonde hair, and usually as inheriting the Weasley freckles.

Dominique is commonly sorted into any of the four Hogwarts houses.

Shipping

Dominique is commonly paired with Scorpius Malfoy or Teddy Lupin (who is canonically involved with her older sister). She also appears in various Weasleycest ships, such as with cousins Roxanne Weasley, James Sirius Potter, or Molly Weasley II or with uncle Charlie Weasley.

The most common pairing for Dominique is probably with an original character.
