Reactions and Reviews

Sometimes fan fiction takes itself too seriously, so I'd like to recommend two pleasant, frothy little zines [1] which raised a smile on a rainy day. In Jeremy Broadribb's 'Chattel' stories, Stonn and T'Prlng deserve each other; Ray Dowsett concludes that K/S had to start somewhere; Mlra Rana involves Spock in a pantomime, and Jacqueline Comben reminds us that computers are not perfect. While humour is a very personal concept, I liked these zines.[2]

[This and A Comedy of Errors ] are two very similar zines which contains short stories by Miri Rana, Jeremy S C Broadribb, Ray Dowsett and Jacqueline Comben.

A Proper Pantomime contains five stories involving Spock in a pantomime, a space evangelist, another pantomime, Stonn and T'Pring and an odd tale which defies description.

The stories in A Comedy of Errors concerns Uhura's birthday party, a bucket (yes, bucket), Chekov and a computer, Stonn and T'Pringg again, and Kirk on shore leave.

All ten stories are well-written and entertaining and all appeal to my very silly sense of humor. My favourite is The Plug, which is the Stonn and T'Pring story from A Proper Pantomime. Unfortunately, if I say anything about it, I'll spoil the fun for anyone who wants to read it, but suffice to say that it had me in hysterics.

Basically, these are both excellent zines, to which I would award 11/10 (each, of course).[3]
