Why we love it: This fic takes the events of the finale and fast forwards a year to Danny’s return to Hawaii for a bittersweet reunion with Steve. The story is well plotted and wonderfully written. There is just the right amount of angst and romance to provide an extremely satisfying look at how events could unfold.[1]
