Uncharted Worlds is a digital zine for multiple crossovers between the Kingdom Hearts games and other fandoms. The zine is one of many free collaborative projects by TeenyZines.
About
Uncharted Worlds is a fanzine dedicated to Sora and his two iconic sidekicks adventuring through ANY fandomverse. Whether it be a silly interaction, intense action, a dramatic encounter, slice-of-life wholesomeness, or a gorgeous portrait, our team looks forward to your creation(s) and how these three will look in their respective fandomverse(s)! This zine will allow any canon-typical violence and remain at a teen-friendly level (PG-13).[1]
The zine was announced on August 14, 2022 as a "fanzine about any and all fandomverses"[2]. Contributors were encouraged to draw Sora, Donald, and Goofy interacting with characters from various games, movies, TV shows, anime, manga, and other forms of media. The zine was intended to be distributed online and for free. Applications for artists and writers opened from August 26 to September 25, 2022[3]. Results were sent shortly after applications closed[4].
Leading up to the zine's release, contributors posted spotlight posts and sneak peeks of their pieces on their own accounts. The organizing account would then share these posts immediately after.
The zine was released on March 6, 2023, on the organizing account's Dropbox[5]. The Dropbox file included a digital PDF of the zine and four digital wallpaper files drawn by contributors.
On March 11, 2023, BaiHu27, a contributor of the zine, shared a recorded message from Ray Chase, voice actor of the game series' Master of Masters, dedicated to the artists of the project, as transcribed:
To all the artists, fans, creators, and Keyblade wielders of TeenyZines, it's me, Master of Masters, unmasked and in the flesh. I just wanted to say something very important to you: As always, may your hearts be your guiding keys.[6]
