To All the Boys I've Loved Before is a book trilogy by Jenny Han about Lara Jean Song-Covey who writes love letters to all the boys she has ever loved and keeps in a teal hatbox, which her younger sister eventually mails out. This eventually leads her to having a fake relationship with Peter Kavinksy (a recipient of a letter) in order to make his ex jealous and to make her sister's ex-boyfriend (another recipient of a letter) believe she didn't like him anymore.

Fandom

The first film introduced a lot of new fans into the fandom and an explosion of various fanworks have been posted to FanFiction.net, Tumblr, and Archive of Our Own. TATBILB Fanfiction sometimes state if its based off the bookverse or the movieverse or both. However since the film follows fairly closely with the books (minus a few character/subplots), other fanworks do not state if they are book/movie. Most of the early fandom looks to be on FanFiction.net, the first fic was posted on September 20, 2015.

The fandom mainly revolves around the pairing Peter/Lara Jean, and later around John Ambrose/Lara Jean. Some fans are Team Peter and others are Team John Ambrose starting with the second book/film. Het is the dominate type of fanfiction, and gen is fairly common. Slash and femslash are fairly rare despite the canon gay character Lucas Krapf.
