Though Memories Die, Love Remains by [Leah S.] - Payter Fen (one of the boys Blake was accused of molesting) comes after Blake and claims that he is in love with him. Avon, who is having perfectly satisfactory affair with Blake, is forced to give it up while Blake tries to convince Payter that he can't sleep with him because he prefers women. Everything is sorted out happily in the end.[1]
Despite its premise, this story proves to be remarkably kind to its characters. Payter Fen, one of the boys (now a young man) Blake was falsely accused of molesting, manages to get himself on board the Liberator. The implanted memories of a sexual encounter with Blake have helped him realise that he's gay. He's also interested in Blake - and the revolution! Blake decides his best bet for letting Payter down gently is to pretend to be straight and in love with Jenna, despite being in a relationship with Avon. Payter believes Blake about Jenna, but can see that Avon is in love with Blake. Much to Avon's embarrassment. The conversation that follows is an absolute delight. What a payoff! [2]
