Reactions and Reviews
The Angel, the Saint, the Rebel, the Dead Man and Me (A/B) -- Natasha Barry: I rather like the multiple images Avon has of Blake in this story - does a good job of showing how Avon might find him attractive. Nice sex scene.[1]
'The Angel, The Saint, The Rebel, The Dead Man and Me' - don't care for the title, but I liked the story, a PWP from Avon's POV and very nice too, especially the shaded view of Blake's character and the very good dialogue from both.[2]
Blake is a complex character and this fic pays homage to all the different versions of himself that he can be almost simultaneously. Also has a lovely thread of Blake asking for Avon's advice about going to a planet, what this means, and how Avon responds to it. And a bit where they get drunk together.[3]
About Torturing Blake. I'm still waffling on it. Rebecca asks what the point would be. I sort of agree, but there are times for it. Setting aside, for now, the scenario of Blake having to watch someone else tortured and then rescue/comfort him/her (which I adore), the times when Blake Torture works best for me are when 1) It happened off stage and we just hear about it later. There's a story I really liked that had a title that I can't think of...it's long, like The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover, but that's not it. Someone help me out here! Anyway, in the story, Blake talks about a lot of harrowing experiences he suffered thanks to the Feds, and his legs are covered with scars.[4]
