Question: Did Paul Glaser see a slash RPF story?
This is a rumor I heard back in the day. That someone left a story in his mailbox or something, and Paul Michael Glaser was very upset. Do not know if it S/H or Soul/Glaser. Don't know if it is true. But that story, together with the rumor of the Paul Darrow and his wife in bed story, really seemed to me to be crossing a line. Characters are one thing, but naming real people? (Shaking my head.) - As far a I know, it was just a rumor, just as the Darrow RPF story was. There is no proof that either happened.
- Also, unlike B7 and Trek, Starsky & Hutch fans (at least the ones in the fandom that created fanworks) had pretty much 0% contact with any actors or other PTB. They kept a big distance from each other. --MPH (talk) 23:37, 1 June 2022 (UTC)
S and H or Hanky Panky?
In the "Distribution" section of this page it says that "Some copies were included in the envelopes of the Starsky & Hutch letterzine S and H of those who had expressed interest." Then in the fan comment from 2015 it says "the Purple Pages (Soul/Glaser slash) ripped Starsky and Hutch fandom apart at one point. Perhaps circulating it with the S&H Letterzine was not the best idea anyone had had." In the fan comment from 2018 it then says "And my understanding was that there was a letterzine where some copies of the Purple Pages has got sent out with a letter zine and that caused a huge fandom ruckus." but the mention of the letterzine is hyperlinked to Hanky Panky. I'm curious - how do we know this was Hanky Panky and not S and H? Admittedly I haven't checked out the podcast episode that the 2018 comment is transcribed from, but it sounds like this is an inference because they don't name the zine.
Were there two letterzines with which The Purple Pages was included where it caused a huge ruckus? If TPP definitely was distributed with Hanky Panky as well, I will mention this in the Distribution section. --enchantedsleeper (talk) 22:37, 1 June 2022 (UTC)
