Most Popular Pairing in AO3?

This pairing might be the most popular in their fandom but the sheer number of stories in the top fandoms would make this an impossible statement (I think). If this was Wikipedia, I would be noting the article with a 'citation needed' template. I can email the Tag Wranglers at AO3 if that is an appropriate next step. https://fanlore.org/wiki/Template:AttentionGardeners. Gardeners, what do you think about this statement? --Bobdog54 (talk) 18:56, 26 March 2018 (UTC)

Oh, that was accidental. I meant most popular in the fandom. I've clarified it now. Sorry! --A Loaf of Bread (talk) 20:41, 26 March 2018 (UTC)
I don't see Russingon on AO3 at all. Perhaps make a note of where the term is used? When did it start being used. P.S. Welcome to Fanlore A Loaf of Bread. :-) --MPH (talk) 20:46, 26 March 2018 (UTC)
Yeah, the relationship filters on AO3 come up under the names of the characters being shipped instead of the common ship names. I think it's true of most common ship names that they are only really used for tagging and mentioning in fan communities. So maybe changing the page title to 'Maedhros/Fingon', and only listing 'Russingon' as an alternative name, would make more sense.
As for when it started being used and other information of that type, I have no idea...
Thank you! --A Loaf of Bread (talk) 21:06, 26 March 2018 (UTC)
Would you like me to change the page name to Maedhros/Fingon? And redirect "Russingon" to it? Then we could add a section on "Russingon" and you/others could add what they know. --MPH (talk) 23:51, 26 March 2018 (UTC)
Yes, please change the page name, if that's all right with you. Hmm... maybe adding a section on Russingon isn't necessary, seeing as it's really just an alternate name and is used interchangeably among fans as far as I know. Thank you! --A Loaf of Bread (talk) 00:02, 30 March 2018 (UTC)
All done! It's a good start to a page. :-) --MPH (talk) 01:39, 30 March 2018 (UTC)
