This page looks like it should be a category instead. --Doro 22:44, 2 June 2010 (UTC)

Yes. How do we make it a category? --Mrs. Potato Head 22:56, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
I would say we try to convince æthel that it might be a good idea and then she can approve it or convince the other committee members... She was in favor of a poetry category too. --Doro 23:07, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
I'm not sure it should only be a category. Sure, right now it is just a list collating all cookbooks, and that a category would do as well, but I can imagine an article about the history/genre of fannish cookbooks as well. Like, is there a known first one, or have these been a fanzine staple even in the anncient mist of sf zines? how do they relate to the source? and then links to the online equivalents (I have seen at least two or three recipe collections with a fannish slant online as well).--RatCreature 16:21, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
After some pondering, I decided this category would fit under Category:Non-fiction Writing. Should it be called Cookbooks? Cookery or Recipes might also fit.--æthel 17:35, 4 June 2010 (UTC)
New proposal: Category:Cookbooks & Recipes, which would contain both print and online stuff. Meanwhile, this page should either be renamed to describe the current content or have the content changed to a broad overview of how/why/when fans make cookbooks. Y/N?--æþel 16:57, 11 December 2011 (UTC)
Both the new category and the renaming or expansion (prefer the latter; if it just stays a list the way it is now maybe instead fold it (back?) into the Fannish Cooking page?) expansion of the current page sound like good ideas. --Sk 23:23, 11 December 2011 (UTC)
I like the idea of a separate category! If it's called "Cookbooks & Recipes" it would exclude fannish activities such as cakes and bake-offs (as described on the "Fannish Cooking" page), though, and I think it would be convenient to have everything food-related in one category. An overview page about fannish cookbooks&recipes would also be great. --Tiyire 02:53, 12 December 2011 (UTC)
How about Category:Cooking & Recipes or Category:Food & Recipes? It would be a subcategory under Category:Fan Activities and include cookbooks, websites devoted to plomeek soup, info about fannish cooking, awesome fannish cakes, tropes/trends for food and/or cooking in non-food fanworks, etc.--æþel 01:34, 14 December 2011 (UTC)
I like the idea, and between the two categories I'd vote for Category:Food & Recipes as not all foodstuffs in fanworks might be cooked, and who knows, the big fannish trend for 2012 might be Vegan Fandom. :) --Sk 01:51, 14 December 2011 (UTC)
Category:Food & Recipes sounds good! --Tiyire 12:08, 14 December 2011 (UTC)
I created the category and populated it with everything food-related I could find. No guarantee I found everything. I also removed the list of cookbooks from this page after adding them all to the category. Cookbook is pretty bare right now.--æþel 01:07, 31 December 2011 (UTC)
