Issue 1

Storms 1 was published in 1991 and contains 155 pages. The graphics and layout are by John Mayer. The interior art is by Jan Durr.

From the editorial:

For me there were not THREE but FIVE seasons of "BEAUTY AND THE BEAST"!
There are the FIRST and SECOND seasons, the classic tales of Catherine and Vincent's transcendent love. These seasons ended with the trilogy which described Vincent's agony and Catherine's efforts to help her lover survive it;
There is the THIRD season, in which Vincent's life was spared but he suffered the death of his beloved Catherine. This season "ended" with the rescue of their son and the death of Catherine's murderer, Gabriel;
There is the "FOURTH" season, which explored Vincent and little Jacob's life together, the experiences of other members of the tunnel community and the world above, and the fragile, impossible friendship of Vincent and Diana;
And, there is what I call the "FIFTH" season (interspersed throughout the series), which told stories that happened before the very first episode of "Beauty and the Beast" was aired. We met many fascinating people whom Vincent knew before he found Catherine - for example, Devin, Rolley, Paracelsus and Lisa.

In STORMS, the action unfolds within one or another of these "five"seasons! Some stories continue to explore the series "as written"; others veer off into "alternate" story/time-lines.

But still, in STORMS we meet some of the special people we love - Vincent, Catherine, Father, Little Jacob, Pascal, Mouse, Mary, Jamie, Elliot, Devin and Diana are in these tales. Only one new character is introduced, someone who is outside the original "Beauty and the Beast" experience. She is Kate O'Connell in "THE MOTHER - WOVEN FROM TIME". Kate speaks for herself!

These are all-season stories. 'The Mother, Woven From Time' -- A mysterious woman and Elliot help Vincent find Catherine, whom he tends with care in the tunnels; 'Diana, Nightmares and Distances' -- Vincent struggles through the time following Catherine's death; 'Elliot and Devin, The Lost Boys' -- a bereaved Devin rescues a 'stranger' after the explosion of the Compass Rose; 'Vincent, Vindicated Visions' -- a prequel to the pilot episode; 'Catherine and Vincent, No Other Direction' -- Diana helps heal a breakup between the Classic lovers following the third anniversary of their meeting. Plus 11 original poems. [2]

Diana appears in most story lines as a friend to Vincent. In 'Elliot and Devin - The Lost Boys,' Catherine is dead but Elliot surfaces. A couple of the stories alter the 3rd season or make it part dream, part reality and one story focuses on Vincent's connection to Catherine before their romance actually began. Readers should note Vincent and Catherine do break up in 'No Other Direction' but are eventually reunited. [3]

A SND story. Catherine has returned after 3 years, and there has been no romance between Vincent and Diana, although she is love with him. [4]

A mix of Classic, SND, 4th season stories and poems dealing romantically with various characters. 'Finale' (a SND novella) continues from 'Storms 2.' In 'Warrior,' Vincent has an encounter with a pre-Terminator 2 Sarah Connor. 'Providence' offers journal excepts from C & V between parting and meeting again in the pilot. In 'The Howling,' V has a visionary encounter with an angel. 'Boston' and 'A Time to Touch' are the fourth season V/D stories, the second concerning the evening after V & D become lovers. [7]
