Slimecicle Cinematic Universe, commonly shortened to SCU, is a fan-created and officially adopted term for a series of long, narrative-focused Minecraft videos created by Slimecicle.

Canon

What IS the SCU?

The SCU does not have a strict and concrete canon, besides three videos that are confirmed to be part of it: "Minecraft, but every 5 minutes there's a natural disaster", "The HARDEST Minecraft Difficulty", and "We Spent 100 Days in a Minecraft Hardcore Apocalypse".

The rest of the videos that are commonly considered canon by fans are "Minecraft, but it's way more traumatizing", "Minecraft, but every block FIGHTS BACK", "roll.", and "Minecraft, but 100 players are hunting me".

Many discussions have been had among fans about what qualifies. It is near-universally accepted that SMPs such as Dream SMP and QSMP do not count. It is also commonly believed that videos on the side "Slmccl" channel are not part of the series, and the Minecraft VR videos aren't either. In a post on Reddit, one fan proposes that in order to be included, a video must be a main-channel Minecraft video that includes at least two of the four Council members (Slimecicle, Bizly, GrizzlyPlays and Condifiction).

Omg, I was thinking the exact same thing lately! And I have been thinking and this is what I think: All of Slimecicle (not Slmccl) Minecraft video are open for this, excluding the VR videos.

There are over 170 works tagged Slimecicle Cinematic Universe (Web Series) on Archive of Our Own as of December 2023. Many of these works are crossovers with other content Slimecicle has been a part of - 60 are tagged Dream SMP, 30 are tagged QSMP, and a handful more are tagged with Origins SMP, Generation Loss or Just Roll With It.

Slimecicle himself is, of course, the most commonly tagged character, followed by Bizly, GrizzlyPlays, Condifiction, TommyInnit and Jschlatt.

The works in the tag are mostly gen, but there are also some m/m works, though a few of these are due to QSMP crossovers. In regards to SCU alone, most pairings tend to be between the four members of the "Council".

SCU fanworks typically portray the Council members as deities hailing from "Molympus". Grizzly is often depicted as a "fallen" heavenly being, with black wings and a white streak in his hair. Fanart also often focuses on the zombie apocalypse video, featuring Slimecicle as a rugged survivor and often focusing on "Patient Zero" (played by TommyInnit).
