Excerpts

What was your first experience with fanfic?:

_Star Trek Lives_ by Jacqueline Lichtenberg, Sondra Marshak and Myrna Culbreath -- it came out about the same time that I discovered Star Trek, and had a chapter in there about fanfic. Although my sister and my friend and I loved ST and wanted to be part of that universe, it was the first time we got the idea of actually creating characters for ourselves to put into that universe, and write down their adventures as stories.

What is your favorite X-Files episode and why?:

I don't know that I have one -- unless it's the one where Mulder brings Krycek to Skinner's apartment and Skinner comes down the stairs barefoot and shirtless..."why" should be perfectly obvious!

What made you into a Skinneroticist?:

Reading the other Skinnerotica! I had such fun reading the stories I felt I wanted to give back to the site, so I wrote "Reading Room." I got some wonderful feedback from that, and kept writing.

What are your top five all-time favorite stories?:

I can name the two I actually downloaded because I kept going back to read them so often: "Nachtmusik" by Ariadne and "Last Dance" by mlb. They're hot, but they're not *just* hot -- there's real emotion, too. I like characterization, revelation, closely-observed details of how Skinner looks and moves and speaks, people profoundly affected by each other along with the sex, and both stories are so, so good at doing that.

Do you write for other fandoms? Which ones?:

Besides XF, I've written for Star Trek, ST: The Next Generation, ST: Deep Space Nine, Battlestar: Galactica, Star Wars, and SW: The Phantom Menace.

How do you feel about fanfic in general?:

I think it's wonderful. I love writing it, and I love reading it more than almost all the "official" novels they're publishing, and sometimes more than the show itself...
