Shade/Corey Molinar is a relationship between the characters Shade and Corey Molinar from the Pokémon fangame, Pokémon Reborn.
Relationship in Canon
Shade is first seen in the game as an omen of Corey's upcoming death. When Corey dies, Shade appears again. Then when the player battles Shade in his gym, Shade has a gengar named "Corey", suggesting it is actually Corey's ghost. Despite this, the two never truly interact, just happening to be in the same place often.
Fandom
The ship drew a small interest as a crack ship, leading to some memes and fanart.
Controversies
Many Reborn fans read Shade's character as being a ghost, or another form of undead entity. This led to accusations that the ship was in fact necrophilia and was, therefore, problematic. Coincidentally, someone sent an ask to the creator's tumblr regarding Shade's popularity in the fandom, and the creator suggested that Shade was not in fact dead.[1] This coincided with the fandom quieting about any issue with the ship.
