Run Me Through: a NSFW OFMD Charity Zine is a charity art zine in Our Flag Means Death fandom. All proceeds were intended to be donated to the National Network of Abortion Funds, they initially reported raising $360.00.
Controversy
The initial publishing of the Zine left much to be desired in that artists were mis-attributed or left out from the zine. Creator Kinodraws posted their intent to correct these errors and re-publish the zine. However, this never came to fruition.
On August 8th, 2023 Kinodraws deleted all public access to the zine, including website, discord servers, twitter pages etc. This was noted by contributors who initiated a callout post on Twitter. This resulted in a public apology, and a posting of a donation receipt from Kinodraws with the amount of $1329.96 having been donated [1].
Their behaviour was further scrutinised, with many users citing suspicion, which resulted in users attempting to confirm the charity donation amount with the National Network of Abortion Funds. The charity was unable to confirm the donation, and instead confirmed that only a donation of $1 had been made on 8/8/23. [2]
On September 9th, 2023, Kinodraws finally resurfaced on twitter, deleting all previous tweets regarding the donations and zine, citing abuse and harassment. They then posted two further screenshots of donations to the charity - that are currently awaiting verification.
