Reactions and Reviews

One of the things when you're new to a fandom is that you tend to read the authors everyone recs. It's a good rule. But it's nice to find someone who hasn't got a lot of exposure and still presents a good story. That's the case with Vesta's "Revelations." It's a solid short story that I find myself returning to because she really captures the frustration and jealousy of watching someone not-very-subtly hit on your partner. Your partner that you really, really want and haven't had the guts to do anything about. My favourite part of this is Jealous!Doyle. It's really something to watch him in action. If the story leaves you wanting more, the author's written a couple of sequels.[1]

I think what I love most about these stories is the ending of Bodie's Morning, the way you're left with an image of them setting off as normal (if they have much of a "normal" morning, that is), but with an extra bit of sunshine..?"[2]

It’s such a good feeling when I discover yet another enjoyable Pros writer whose work I haven’t come across before.

Maybe it’s the Celt in me, but I love the reined-in violence, the way Doyle says it like *it is* - no room for confusion, no room for compromise or sharing: war is declared and it’s every man for himself......and you just can’t beat an angry, jealous Doyle when it comes to sheer entertainment...

[3]

It's a very tightly written, very hot little story - I love it. I wish she'd write more Pros.[4]
