Only Light is a Qui-Gon/Obi-Wan story by Amy Fortuna. On the author's page it was described as a novelette.[1]
Summary: In a universe where love between Jedi is a crime, Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon face the consequences.
Author's note:
I started this a very long time ago. Then it was a sweet happy little thing with a wonderful resolution. Then I discovered that it wouldn't work that way, that people don't work that way, and I dropped it. Several days ago, however, Augusta Pembrooke posted a "darkfic" to chanslash, called Worth It, which resembled this story as I'd conceived it Darkly. Needless to say, she inspired me and I set back to work on it. And now that I'm finished, I have to frankly say I'm amazed at myself; I've written this in a week and a half. And I think it's a really good story that raises some interesting questions. Beautiful and oh, so very angsty. Could be a tear-jerker, this one.

This is one of the few stories that has actually managed to make me cry. Beautifully written and full of delicious angst, this AU focuses on the absolute power of true love.[4]
