New Beginnings is a zine featuring characters from the Kingdom Hearts games. The zine was notably produced in Korean and English, involving a collaboration of 30 contributors.
About
The project was announced on social media on October 31, 2018[1]. The post detailed that the zine was made to "commemorate and congratulate on Sora's new journey he'll be venturing for this coming Kingdom Hearts 3". The zine would also be bilingual for Korean and English and combine elements of Western style zines and Eastern style anthologies.
Prior to preorders opening, the project ran a promotional event starting on December 1, 2018, offering coupons to use on the zine to ten randomly chosen winners from Tiwtter and Tumblr[2]. The winners of this event were Tumblr users xinamine, xion-rememberance, sutoomi, craftystudentmakerangel, and littlesat[3]. The Twitter post for the Twitter users who won has been deleted at the time of documentation.
Preorders began on December 10, 2018, with the following pricing tiers[4]:

- Daybreak - Large Cover Print, Sticker Sheet, Washi Tape, Postcard Set, Acrylic Stand, Enamel Pin
- Daybreak Final Mix (Limited to 20) - Large Cover Print, Sticker Sheet, Washi Tape, Postcard Set, Acrylic Stand, Enamel Pin
- Twilight - Physical Zine, Large Cover Print, Sticker Sheet, Washi Tape, Postcard Set, Acrylic Stand
- Destiny (Limited to 50) - Physical Zine, Large Cover Print, Sticker Sheet, Washi Tape, Postcard Set, Acrylic Stand, Enamel Pin
Stretch goals included a photocard at 100 sales, a pin button at 200 sales, and an large print of the cover at 150 Twlight bundles sales[5]. The Destiny bundle sold out by January 7, 2019[6].
During Preorders, several events were hosted. The first giveaway running from December 5th to December 25th for a copy of the zine[7]. The winner of this giveaway was Tumblr user shunkaku and a Twitter user who could not be identified[8]. Another giveaway event ran from December 13, 2020, to January 12, 2021, for 20 free paper coasters designed by mirion[9]. The winners of this giveaway were Tumblr users pinknotlavender, minimomotaro, souloffargent, illusionsprite, themoogleexorcist, sutoomi, miraik, bitch-be-nimble, psuedokat, and melynir, as well as ten other unidentified Twitter users[10].
The zine's store closed preorders on January 25, 2019[11]. All orders were shipped out by February 26, 2019[12]. Although the mods promised a potential second sales, the project was announced to be closed on March 10, 2019, without second sales due to undisclosed reasons[13].
