Naruto.fi is a Finnish Naruto fansite, originally founded in 2004. It used to have features such as a forum and a wiki. However, these projects were abandoned in 2011, when the site and its staff founded a new website at Animu.fi, which is meant for general anime talk, fics and fanart. The wiki (although inactive) is still accessible, and the discussion board can be used through a direct link, but is not linked to on the Naruto.fi main page anymore.

History and userbase

The idea for the website started in late 2003, when Fador, Chaos, and "a few others" started working on a Naruto website in their Naruto IRC chat. On the initial website, founded on January 25, 2004, people were able to post their fanart and wallpapers. In 2005, many features were deleted, as the website was getting too slow, but many were brought back later. By 2006, the site already had a forum, fanart, fanfics, fanart voting, fanart top 10 list, news, and Oekaki drawing boards.

The forum itself had boards for Naruto discussion, other manga and anime discussion (One Piece and Bleach had their own sub-boards), general discussion, convention discussion, discussion about entertainment (music, TV, movies, cosplay, games, etc), as well as boards for fanart, edits, and fanfiction. The art and fics were not limited to Naruto only, but the site also hosts fanwork for other series, such as Harry Potter and the Lord of the Rings. There are over 180 fanfics on the site.

By March 2004, the site already had 300 users. In May 2010, this number was 3925. At its peak in November 2006, the site had about 5000 registered users.

While available online, the site is now inactive. The forum, the links to which are hidden, hasn't had consistent activity since 2011, and same goes to the wiki, although the latter is still linked on the Naruto.fi front page.
