Why we love it: This is an AU that has Steve staying on the island until he graduates from high school. During his senior year he and Chin meet and develop a relationship of sorts. A relationship that can’t help but effect their present on the task force. This story is a slow exploration of all of the characters and provides lots of insightful glimpses into their pasts. In particular the comparatively minor character of Mary is given a lot of fleshing out in a very believable way. This is an all around excellent fic that we absolutely loved. Even better is that it is long enough to really get into the meat of the characters.
