Kingdom Hearts I Zine is a digital zine centered around the first Kingdom Hearts game.
About
Interest checks for a zine based on the first Kingdom Hearts game began on March 1, 2020, with a deadline of March 31st[1]. Mod applications began on April 29, 2020 and ended at the end of June. Applications for contributing artists and writers opened from July 12 to August 12, 2020[2]. Acceptance emails were sent out on August 22, 2020[3]. Applications for mods opened again from February 13 to February 20, 2021[4].
The zine's release date was originally January 25, 2021[5], but schedule changes moved the release date to March 28, 2021[6]. However, the zine's social media project posted on that day that the zine would be postponed until further notice, and went dormant for a full year[7].
The project's social media account restarted activity again when it announced on March 27, 2022 that the zine would be coming soon[8]. The zine was released for free through Google Drive on March 28, 2022[9].
