IDIC was a multifandom mailing list for fans to post and comment on each other's slash fanfiction.

The info for it was on an early rendition of Lady Kardasi's Domain. It is unknown who the listowner was. Perhaps kira-nerys?

About

IDIC for short! - is but another mailinglist among all other malinglists, so why should you join?

Because - IDIC is for all the slashers who think that feedback has gone down the drain. Lately, some mailinglists discourage public feedback and personally I don't like that. Is it just me? I hope not, because then the IDIC list will be a very lonely place... IDIC is for all of you who want to get serious feedback and perhaps even constructive critique for what you write, who want to evolve as writers and discuss your stories. It is also for those who know that you give the best feedback there is.

On IDIC feedback is supposed to be public and onlist, and will most likely generate discussions about the stories as well. That's IDIC's purpose! If this is not for you, move along to the fanfic or something else. No hard feelings!

By joining IDIC, each member agrees to submit feedback for the stories they read. I'm counting on you to be honest about this! <G> I'm not asking that you feed back all the stories, but to make an effort!

Welcome aboard. Read the RULES

So, What's the catch?

First of all, I'm assuming you know what slash is. If you don't, you'd better think twice before joining. If you don't enjoy two people of the same gender having sex or a loving relationship, trust me - this list ain't for you!

You should also consider the fact that most of the stories on the list will deal with erotica. If that's not for you, avoid the IDIC list, okay.

And... there is a catch - isn't there always? But it's not that harsh. Here's what you have to remember to be a member. <G> [1]

Now, if you're still here, here's the deal:

1. Any fandom is okay so long as it is slash. You can write about Jim and Blair of the Sentinel, or Kirk and Spock of Star Trek, or Paris/Kim of Voyager, or Mulder/Krycek of X-files, or Aeryn/Shaan of Farscape or whatever floats your boat. Just hop aboard! Any rating - G-NC-17 is allowed.

2. All stories should have the following information attached.

Author - your name or pen name
Feedback - You want feedback? Sure you do. Tell us what kind and where to send it. And.. yes, it's supposed to appear onlist as well!
Title - What's your story called, hon?
Rating - G-NC-17? is it a hot PWP or just a gen friendship story? Tell us!
Series - Is it Star Trek, Farscape or X-files, or is it JAG, Sentinel or ]]La Femme Nikita]]?
Pairing - Here's where this list differs a bit. You need to write down the entire names of the characters involved. A code is not enough.
Warnings: - I'd like you to write down if it has something really exceptional such as rape, major character death or non-consensual sex etc in the story.
Summary - so - what's it about?
Disclaimer - Tell us if the characters belong to Paramount, 1013 or PetFly, cause I'm guessing the characters ain't yours.
Webpage - You have your own place on the net? Tell us.
Archiving - yeah or nay, and where? IDIC does not have its own archive, but the stories will appear in the egroups message archives.

3. Try keeping the story parts down to a maximum of 15 pages per part. If it's much longer than that, split it into several parts. Try making sure that the formatting looks okay before posting very long stories to the list. Let's try to help those who've got WebTV or other technical equipment which doesn't always co-operate.

4. You flame anyone, you're gone. Kicked off list, capice? No pardon. I warn you once, that's it. Of course, by flaming I mean acting intentionally rude, hurtful and obnoxious. If you're unsure, you probably aren't being rude. 'Kay?

5. Off Topic is allowed to some extent. I'll let you know if you go too far. The list is for discussion as well as posting stories, don't forget that.

6. You have to be over 18 to join. Send me an age-statement when you ask to subscribe.

7. Forwarding other people's mails from IDIC to other lists is not allowed as a rule. It's common courtesy not to do this without permission.

8. Use people's nicks if they use their nicks on the list. Don't spread their real names around unless they've said it's okay.

9 Don't sent HTML to the list.

That's it for now. It may change in the future.
