Funnel Cakes and Flying Monkeys is a fanfiction archive containing stories about Andrew Wells from BtVS and ATS. It also has a section of resources for writing Andrew fanfiction, including some meta essays. It is part of the BtVS Writers' Guild, a webring of Buffy-related sites that give guidance and help to fanfic writers.
The website also had an associated mailing list titled FCFMTheList.
About
Funnel Cakes and Flying Monkeys is intended to be a comprehensive writing guide for the character of Andrew Wells from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.A lot of people were unhappy with Season 6 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer due to the radically skewed and upsetting characterization of the show's beloved Scooby Gang. However, during all that doom and gloom, there was a glimmer of joy. The Troika, featuring Warren, Andrew, and Jonathan, brought a light hearted nature to some of the darkest times during the show's lifespan. Some viewers dismissed the Troika as wannabe villains, pointing out that they're just a bunch of geeks with too much free time. However, as the season progressed, the Troika grew to be a formidable enemy for the Scoobies. At the end of Season 6, Warren was dead, having been dealt the blow of Darth Willow's wrath, and Andrew and Jonathan had hightailed it to Mexico. During Season 7, Andrew and Jonathan returned, only to accidentally unleash hell on earth. In the end, Jonathan bit the big one at the hands of Andrew, and the lifespan of the Troika seemed to end as well. It was not to be the case. Andrew, having failed to keep a low profile, ran into a reformed Willow and was promptly dragged back to Buffy's house. It seemed that the Troika would live on, since instead of killing him, Buffy let Andrew stick around, albeit as a hostage. Some of this season's funniest lines have been spoken by Andrew, and the folks here at Funnel Cakes and Flying Monkeys feel that Andrew deserves more than the scornful tolerance the Scooby gang is dealing him. And so the site was born.[1]
